The Rundown: Yara makes a decision about her future and her choice will anger the gods.

Yara stands before the gods and as she is compelled to drink and become Hera’s new champion, something within her gives her pause. A pause that will make things awkward for everyone including Eros. Yara makes her decision when Hera reveals something the young hero was unaware of, and her refusal of Hera’s gift will not be taken lightly. When she is told of her punishment for refusing Hera, Yara decides that a violent escape from Olympus is a better idea.

Her escape from the mountain will cost her as Cassie learns more about both Yara’s decision and her place among another tribe of warrior women. As Cassie tours the home of Yara’s tribe, Yara herself is confronted by Hera and surprised by an attack from Hephaestus. As Cassie learns that Yara’s tribe has its sites set on Themyscria, she is brought before an old friend.

The Story: Jones crafts an entertaining and engaging story in this issue. There are some great character moments throughout and the building conflict on both sides is compelling. Yara is becoming a more interesting character with each issue and her place in the world of the Amazons continues to be intriguing. The story has great action and adventure elements and builds to a great cliffhanger with the surprise reveal at the end.

The Art: Melo delivers some beautiful imagery and thrilling action throughout the issue. A great looking issue from start to finish.
