The Rundown: Miles Morales will lose everything when he finds himself turned into a monster.

It’s the early 1980’s and children are going missing in Atlanta. While the police drag their feet, young Miles Morales is dealing with something he cannot explain. After trying to talk to his parents, he realizes that they have their own drama going on especially his father and Uncle Aaron. Miles decides to take a walk, but doesn’t realize that he is being watched.

Decades later, Miles is in the Midwest and has not aged a day. When he’s attacked by Sentinels, he showcases his new powers and abilities. As he takes the machines down, the man who is hunting him locates him and sends some powerful weapons to bring Wolverine down. Weapons that will keep the fight all in the family.

The Story: Ridley crafts an entertaining story that both touches on some dark moments and issues in our recent past, but also manages to keep the story contained and personal with both the villain and what he unleashes to capture Miles. The story moves fast, but that works for the personal nature of it. There is a lot of great action in the story and I really enjoyed where the story went as well as the surprise at the end.

The Art: Karami delivers some great art in the issue. There is a lot of action that is visually thrilling, but the personal nature of the story comes through in the character designs. A great looking issue.
