Another hero of the DC universe is coming to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers and DC Films have teamed with Chernin Entertainment to produce a new movie based on the 1940’s Justice Society of America member Hourman.

Gavin James and Neil Widener have been tapped to write the screenplay for the film. No director has been named at this time.

Hourman has has three aliases over the decades starting with Rex Tyler in the 1940’s. Chemist Rex Tyler creates a compound that grants him superpowers for exactly one hour a day. His son Rick took over the mantle later. According to THR, this movie version of Hourman will see the character as a brilliant but troubled pharmaceutical analyst who was plagued by visions all his life until he discovers that those visions are tragic events that occur one hour into the future.

In order to win back his ex-wife and son, he works to prevent these disasters and finds both purpose and redemption.
