The Rundown: Twig runs into more danger as he comes face to face with a new challenge.

A vision of destruction showcases the destruction that will come if Twig does not complete his mission. A vision that includes a creature that seems to know about Twig’s mission and how much time he has left. With time running out, Twig and Splat get moving faster on their quest, but they run into a trap.

Twig finds himself captured by a creature who wants him for a very specific reason. It will take ingenuity and the help of Splat to escape. In the aftermath, Twig finds a slaughter in the area where he needs to find a magical creature. When he discovers one still alive, he is forced to make a difficult decision.

The Story: Young crafts a more tension filled story in this issue. Twig is growing as a character and the story is reflecting that growth both in character and purpose. The story still manages to keep some of its fun with the interactions between Twig and Splat, but its darker elements are making it more engaging as Twig struggles with the reality of his mission and its consequences.

The Art: Strahm delivers some beautifully detailed and unique art throughout the issue. The visual world of this story continues to be beautiful, enriching and visually stunning.
