The Rundown: Lara Croft begins a new adventure connected to a dangerous cult.

Lara Croft is giving an interview about her adventures as she recounts an adventure in Spain that brings her to the entrance of an underground tomb. A tomb that is not vacant as Lara is attacked by a masked assailant hunting for the same artifact that she is trying to find. Her mind drifts to the moments after she lost her home and the person who helped her get through it.

She is confronted by the assailant and the two battle it out until Lara gets the upper hand and the prize they both seek. Unfortunately, her interview ends and she discovers that the object has been stolen from her home and the person who took it prepares for a dangerous ritual.

The Story: Gilly creates a thrilling and entertaining story in this first issue. There are some fun and engaging moments throughout the story along with some great action and a mystery that grabbed my attention. I like the focus on Lara’s relationship with Winston and how much she relies on him. I look forward to seeing where this story goes next.

The Art: Di Caprio crafts some great art throughout the issue. I really like the character designs and the visual thrills of the action.
