Warner Brothers and DC Universe have announced that they have found the actor to play the role of the leader of the Doom Patrol on the new live action series.
According to Deadline and other outlets, former James Bond Timothy Dalton will be taking on the role of Doom Patrol leader Dr. Niles “The Chief” Caulder in the series from Warner Brothers TV and Arrowverse producer Greg Berlanti.
Dalton’s Chief will join fellow Doom Patrol outcasts Robotman (Brendan Fraser), Negative Man, Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero). The team will be facing off against the recently announced Alan Tudyk as the villain Mr. Nobody.
Caulder is described as a pioneer in medical science who searches the world for those on the brink of death who need a miracle. Caulder is both brilliant and controversial due to his non-stop mission to help those in need.
Timothy Dalton made a name for himself on the stage and screen before being cast as British super spy James Bond in the films The Living Daylights and License to Kill. He has gone on to roles in television and film, most recently the Showtime series Penny Dreadful and films like Hot Fuzz.
Doom Patrol is expected next year from DC Universe.
