The Rundown: Jessica decides to stop running and learns who is really after her.
Jessica is meeting with three of her Variants and sizing them up based on who they are and what she isn’t. After a tense confrontation with one of them, she goes to the bathroom where she runs into another. The one who left a note telling Jessica not to trust the others. After contacting Luke and finding out that her family is safe, Jessica decides to confront the time bomb in her brain.
The Variants and Jessica head to the roof to perform a seance and Jessica confronts Killgrave in her mind. A confrontation she will make with some powerful help. After learning the truth, Jessica confronts one of her Variants and discovers not only who is after her, but that this Variant is a lot more powerful than she imagined.
The Story: Simone crafts an intense and engaging mystery in this issue and the tension within it builds beautifully. The mystery continues to be intense and entertaining and I love the dialogue between the characters as well as the attitude of Jessica prime. The story has some truly poignant moments within it, especially in the moments in Jessica’s mind. Everything comes together to a fantastic reveal that is surprising and makes me intrigued to see what happens next.
The Art: Noto delivers some beautiful art in the issue. The characters look amazing and I love the visual scope of the issue.
