Accoridng to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, Netflix has renewed the acclaimed series for a third season on the streaming service.
Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore have all signed on for the third season of the series. The series follows the adventures (and sometimes misadventures) of the Hargreeves siblings as they find themselves usually having to overcome their personal and interpersonal baggage in order to save the world.
While Netflix normally doesn’t release its viewership numbers, the streamer made a point of letting the press know that the Umbrella Academy has topped the charts with over 45 million member households watching the first season and over 3 billion minutes of the first two seasons being streamed across the US.
There is no word on what the plot of the third season will be, but production is set to begin in Toronto this February.
