The Terrifics are scattered across dimensions and each one of them witnesses the portals that brought them to their destinations close behind them. Trapped in a world of cartoon animals, Plastic Man, Pneuman and Solomon are rescued by Tom Strong’s wife Dhalua and they start their mission to rescue the others. Tesla Strong, Rex Mason and Phantom Girl are trying to escape mechanized Aztec warriors as their portal closes and the group is trapped with no escape.

At the same time, an angry Swamp Thing traps Terrific and Tom Strong. When Terrific finds a way to reason with Holland, they are let go and told that Dread has gone to Gotham City. They find that the villain is using one of Holt’s old buildings to create a bomb to take out the city and the pair arrive with only moments to defuse the device. While teams converge and the battle rages, Mr. Terrific determines who Dread really is and the answer is going to take the team back to the beginning.

This issue of the Terrifics is really good. It does a great job of telling a fun story while also tackling one of the big issues surrounding Terrific as a character. The moment between Tom and Terrific is really well done and Lemire takes the time to have the two heroes talk to each other rather than having Strong lecture. It’s a solid side story in an already interesting and fun A plot. There are some moments that stretch credibility a little and some points that are far too convenient, but the overall story is solid enough to keep me interested in seeing where it goes and what happens next.

The art in the issue is well done. Nothing really stood out in the action, but the depiction of Swamp Thing was well done and the final page contained a solid reveal.
