The Rundown: With the mystery getting darker, Dream will be forced to intervene.

Lucien searches for the Dream Lord when he discovers that the Corinthian is set to commit an act in defiance of his orders. An act that prompts Dream to finally step out from the sidelines when he realizes that the pieces being moved around are connected to something bigger.

Dream confronts Azazel with the truth about the power he’s been using as well as the creature calling itself an angel before removing certain pieces from the board. Pieces who find that the game continues and could be getting more dangerous for everyone, including Dream himself.

The Story: A fantastic adventure filled with the mystical and magical charm that the Sandman is known for. I love seeing Dream finally intervene in events and how his intervention opens the door to more mystery and adventure. The story is impressive in its scope and ambition and I love the way James Tynion IV brings the reader back into the world of the Endless and all of their intricate machinations.

The Art: Estherren delivers some beautifully detailed and ethereal art throughout the issue. The visual style plays with the imagery in a way that draws you in.
