The Rundown: The princess goes looking for answers and finds out the dark truth behind her father’s power.
Foreman returns to his home and his mate seething at being denied his place among the elite. As he takes his share of the elixir, he is surprised by the arrival of the princess. An arrival that will lead to a violent exchange and a shocking revelation that could lead to her end.
At the same time, Pigeon continues to question why he and the other sacrifices continue to live in a virtual playground while the others who came with them disappear and never return. A question that will lead him on a dangerous quest for answers.
The Story: Remender raises the stakes in this issue with a story that has action, suspense and terror. I continue to be immersed in the world of this story as well as the complicated and compelling journey of its characters both good and evil. The story is impressive in its scope and world building and I look forward to seeing what happens next after its dark cliffhanger.
The Art: Fiumara has a fantastic visual eye and every page is filled with beautiful and engaging imagery. McCaig’s colors capture the eye and help deliver a rich, lush and wonderfully detailed visual experience.
