The Rundown: A former roadie with a special gift finds himself enlisted for a very important mission.

It’s 1983 and Mass Acre is poised to perform at a famous LA night spot. Having the band’s back is Joe D who is the best Roadie in the business. Not only does he take care of the band and the equipment, he also uses his special powers to capture and contain the demons being summoned by the music itself.

Years later, Joe is reliving the glory days when he decides to take a woman home from the local bar. After finding his night unfulfilled, he falls asleep only to be awoken by a demon he had a personal relationship with who tells him that a darker power is on the rise. A dark power using new ways to influence humanity. A dark power whose next target is Joe’s daughter.

The Story: Seeley crafts a fun, dark and engaging romp in this first issue. The story does an amazing job of introducing the characters, conflicts and personalities that make you want to follow Joe on his journey. I really enjoyed the humor in the issue as well as the bigger themes throughout the story. The Roadie looks like a fun series and I look forward to seeing how it evolves.

The Art: Galan delivers some beautifully detailed and rousing art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun, sexy and as visually engaging as the story.
