The breakout Disney Plus hit Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian is preparing to launch its much anticipated season 2 on the streaming platform later this year, but the creative team have not been resting on their collective laurels.
According to an exclusive in Variety, The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau has already been working on the third season of the series. A source tells Variety that the writer/director has been working on the third season since April 20th. One source confirmed that Favreau has been “writing season three for a while” and that Lucasfilm vice president Doug Chiang has been creating concepts for the third season “for the past few week”.
Production on season two of the series ended in March before the first shelter at home orders were put into effect. Season two is expected to be released before the end of this year and the rumors that Rosario Dawson has joined the series as former Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano has fueled fan frenzy about the further adventures of the bounty hunter and his force sensitive charge.
