Chris Pine is getting ready to jump back into the world of action with his next role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pine is in talks to star in a reboot of the action film The Saint. The character, based on the 1920 novel series from Leslie Charteris, is a debonair thief with a Robin Hood like code of ethics for what he does with the money he steals from the powerful and corrupt. Seth Grahame-Smith (The Lego Batman Movie) wrote the latest incarnation of the script for Paramount.
The Saint has been featured in movies and television since the 1930’s both in the US and England with the most famous interpretation being the British television series starring Roger Moore. A feature film starring Val Kilmer was released in 1997 and a short lived television reboot was produced in 2017 starring Adam Rayner and Eliza Dushku, but it was never picked up and subsequently released as a TV movie.
Chris Pine is known for his roles in films like Star Trek, Into the Woods and A Wrinkle in Time. He can next be seen reprising the role of Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman ’84.
