The Rundown: The Doom Patrol fights a strange alien threat.

Niles Caulder sits in his office writing when he is visited by someone he knows. Someone who needs his help even if it kills everyone in the process. At the same time, the Doom Patrol is doing the only job that they can get, finding an old woman’s missing cat. After finding the cat’s remains, the team decides to do something underhanded to collect the reward.
After bringing the woman a new cat, Larry goes in to have tea with her and finally tells her the truth before he is called out of the house to deal with a giant alien ship stealing all the cats in the area. An alien ship that the other members of the team are already fighting as Caluder makes a deal with the mystery person who came to his office.
The Story: Van Poelgeest creates a great first issue for this time. It has the fun, strangeness and unexpected moments I expect from the Doom Patrol and I love the absurdity of the alien stealing cats. There is a more serious story being teased at the beginning of the issue and it hooked me immediately and made me curious about where this story is going and what it will mean for the characters.
The Art: Henrichon creates some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals are gorgeous and perfectly capture the tone and mood of the story.
