The Rundown: Jackie learns more about his destiny and the powers he commands.

Deep beneath the city, Jackie and his childhood friend Jenny have been brought by Sonatine to protect them from the forces of the Angelus. Sonatine shows him the forces gathered to serve him and the darkness as well as tells them of the power Jackie has within him and how he can dispel them. At the same time, the leader of the Angelus is frustrated at failing to kill Jackie and prepares to act.
That night, Jackie decides to try out his new powers by going after the men who tried to kill his uncle. After invading their compound, Jackie slaughters them all and then visits his uncle before finding out something devastating about Jenny’s family.
The Story: Silvestri creates a great, dark and thrilling story in this issue. I really enjoy how dark the story is getting and how every character is on the verge of or losing things that will resonate in the interpersonal relationships they have with each other. There is some great buildup of tension and suspense throughout the story and an awesome action sequence that showcases how powerful and dangerous Jackie is becoming.
The Art: Gay creates some visually beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how brilliantly detailed everything is.
