The Rundown: Ben Reilly heads to Brooklyn to stop a threat and has a tense confrontation with Miles Morales.

Ben gets a briefing about a new threat in Brooklyn. One that has been destroying buildings and the Beyond Corporation wants him to stop. They also tell him that he has to enforce Beyond’s trademark on the name Spider-Man when and if he runs into Miles Morales. Ben comes on the scene of the latest attack and finds himself confronted by the residents when he tells them he can’t help them with their needs.

Miles arrives on the scene and knows that this Spider-Man isn’t Peter Parker. Having dealt with his own recent clone issues, his confrontation with Ben goes as bad as one expects. After clearing the air, the pair find themselves confronted by the creature they seek. Unable to take it alone, the pair decide to team up to bring the creature down. In the aftermath, Ben is confronted by his boss and she discovers that there is someone digging into her business. Someone she decides to eliminate.

The Story: Ahmed crafts a fun adventure for both Ben and Miles. One that will showcase how Ben’s connection to the Beyond Corporation will lead to some interesting stories to come. The confrontation between Ben and Miles was handled brilliantly and I appreciate the pacing of the story and how it managed to balance the character moments as well as move the story forward with great moments of tension for Ben.

The Art: Gomez delivers some impressive and exciting art in this issue. The action was visually thrilling and the characters look fantastic on the page. A great looking book filled with exciting imagery.
