Nintendo had their presentation at E3 and many of the games that they presented reminded fans why they loved the brand in the first place.
One of the games that they presented featured the company’s icon in an adventure that looks to expand the Super Mario franchise significantly.
Super Mario Odyssey is a new platformer in the style of Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64. Mario travels to different worlds which feature a freeform, exploration-based level design that even includes real-world inspired levels like New Donk City, which is reminiscent of New York City in its design.
A new feature to the game will be “Cappy”, a new character that is Mario’s hat in the game. Cappy can be used to attack enemies, activate objects and possess the bodies of creatures in the game, giving Mario control over them. The level design and gameplay look fun and the new elements added to the game in the trailer make Super Mario Odyssey seem like a unique experience. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
Super Mario Odyssey comes out for the Nintendo Switch October 27, 2017.
