Suicide Squad #6

DC Comics

Written by Robbie Thompson

Art by Eduardo Pansica, Julio Ferriera and Dexter Soy

Colors by Alex Sinclair

Letters by Wes Abbot

The Rundown: The Suicide Squad battles Ultraman while Waller plans a strategy.

Waller expresses her interest in Earth-3, while members of the Suicide Squad fight Night terror. Afterwards, Waller informs the group of their next mission. Then, she oversees a separate mission involving someone unexpected. Finally, the selected members of the Suicide Squad are sent to Earth-3 where they face their most formidable enemy.

The Story: Thompson has crafted a fast paced narrative filled with excitement and high octane adventure. There is an urgency to this episode that is different from the previous chapters in this series. For the first time it feels as though Waller is not in complete control. And while that is scary for the team. It poses the question: Is Waller’s actions indicative of a larger issue?

The Art: This good looking issue is filled with intense action sequences. The bold color work matches the story’s energetic tone. And the detailed illustrations add an emotional depth to the character’s actions. I found this chapter to be very engaging and transportive.
