The Rundown: Virgil fights to help his community as new threats emerge in Dakota.

Months after freeing his fellow bang babies from the government, Virgil continues to help the people of Dakota as himself and as Static. Unfortunately, the latter has to suit up when an explosion by a scared kid with powers exposes a group of mercenaries trying to kidnap the powered people for money.

Static fights to take them down and in the aftermath tries to determine who they are as he deals with other issues. At the same time, a darker force steals one of the mercenaries into the shadows to get information before showing just how powerful and dangerous he can be.

The Story: Draper-Ivey and Ayala craft a fun, exciting and entertaining story filled with great tension, action and adventure. The new antagonists in the story are interesting and I like seeing the evolution of Virgil as a character. This new arc is starting off strong and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

The Art: Draper-Ivey delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the look of the world of these characters and there are some visually scary moments that are perfectly done.
