Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Season 1, Episode 6
Official Description – On a mission to acquire valuable assets, The Batch encounters smugglers after the same target.
The Batch, still in residence on Ord Mantell, help train Omega in weaponry use. Soon, Cyd gives the group a new assignment, and Omega some practical advice. The Batch then sets off to Corellia to obtain a valuable asset.
Once there, the group finds themselves in competition with another crew. A confrontation between the two groups over the set target alerts Imperial forces. In order to escape, both crews must work together. And Wrecker faces a painful challenge while trying to protect the group.
Later, the Batch and their previous competitor discuss the target and its importance. The Batch are then dropped off at Ord Mantell. Before their departure, Hunter offers vital information to his new acquaintances. They then leave, and immediately deliver that information to a mysterious source.
I like how Omega is quickly becoming invaluable to the team. Her growth is immense, and I wonder if it is attributed to her association with the Kaminoans. The Batch, in general, are going through a transformation due to their recent circumstances. Their transformation from soldiers to a crew-for-hire is quite fascinating.
However, Wrecker’s increased health issues are terrifying. And the implications are very clear. His malady has the potential to threaten everything the Batch holds dear. I am curious as to whether Wrecker understands his situation, and if he will reach out to his team members for help.
Also, this episode features some pretty interesting cameos. I really enjoy how this vast universe is made smaller through a variety of cross relationships. These overlapping stories serve as a poignant reminder of the importance of the Outer Rim in the world of Star Wars.
