Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Season 1 Episode 6
The action-packed special event finale.
The action returns to Tatooine as Reva emerges looking for a certain farmer. At the same time, Obi-Wan and the escaping refugees are being pursued by Vader. As Obi-Wan learns the reality of their situation, he begins to formulate a plan. The opening of the episode continues to be exciting as we’re introduced to a young Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan gives an impassioned speech that is great.
Back on Tatooine, Owen gets a warning about Reva and we get to see Beru become a badass as she prepares for trouble. I love the scene and the agency that it gives to her beyond just slinging blue milk. Leia gets a gift and some parting words from Obi-Wan about Tala. The scene is so sweet and the gift is a wonderful callback. I also love how Obi-Wan is confronted about his need to confront Vader and how readily Vader is willing to follow his own obsession.
There is so much tension in this episode and I love seeing it. Beyond the adventure, the tension is one of the things that should drive a finale and it is perfectly executed. It gets even more intense when Obi-Wan lands on a nearby planet and Vader decides to confront him alone. It brilliantly paralleled by Reva making her way to the Lars farm.
The confrontation between Obi-Wan and Vader is visually stunning and epic in its action and tension. If there was ever a moment where the power of Obi-Wan Kenobi was to be highlighted, this is it. It’s a brilliant hero return that is emotional and inspirational. At the same time, the Reva moments at the Lars farm are scary and filled with great tension.
The finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi is epic across the board. From the action to the emotion, the series brings everything home with amazing moments for every character, fantastic cameos that made me smile from ear to ear and finales that brilliantly setup everything to come in the universe of these characters. I was thrilled throughout and loved every minute.
