The Rundown: The investigation continues as Odo and Worf change tactics, but another body will change everything.

As Odo and Worf interrogate Quark about the poison darts they found on him, a call from Doctor Bashir brings the investigators to another body. The other body is identified as a rich Bajoran with a connection to the first victim and a questionable past during the occupation.

Odo starts to get pressure from all sides as more people want to know the status of his investigation. To make matters worse, a mass killing of visiting dignitaries will prompt the Federation to send in its own investigator to find the killer.

The Story: As the bodies pile up and the investigation expands, Scott and David Tipton do an excellent job of not overplaying their hand. They are allowing the story to unfold for the reader at a pace that keeps the reader engaged both in the story and the investigation. The writing is great and the way the dialogue is written and lettered on the page makes it impossible not to hear the voices of the characters as the story progresses. I’m enjoying the story so far and the introduction of a new character is handled with subtlety and a little levity. It will be interesting to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Greg Scott employs a dark, film noir sensibility to the art in this issue and that works with both the tone and the themes of the issue. I like many of the panels and how they bathe characters in shadow in order to help showcase emotion.
