The Rundown: Spider-Man and Kraven face off against Morlun and Kaine.
After taking more from Kraven, Morlun is preparing to kill them both, but his plan is interrupted by an evolving Kaine who has decided to kill his father. Unfortunately, Spider-Man can’t let that happen and Morlun manages to escape during the fight.
As Morlun prepares for the next part of his plan, Kaine gets a look into Kraven’s memories and leaves him with something unexpected. After stopping Morlun, Kaine makes a decision based on his connection to Peter. A decision that will change both their lives and give Peter a chance at his new life with his family.
The Story: DeMatteis brings this story to a thrilling, entertaining conclusion. There is great action and I love that the story has the feel and progression of an episode of the animated series it is based on. The story does a great job of evolving this version of Spider-Man as well as his conflict with Kraven and I really enjoyed seeing a resolution to the series that focuses on the characters and their progression.
The Art: Towe creates some beautiful art in the issue. I love the character designs and how the art captures the tone and style of the animated series.
