The Rundown: A Viking from the past targets Doctor Contra.

In the distant past, a Viking warrior pits his might against an entity called the Time Master and finds himself trapped in ice for thousands of years. After Space Ghost and the kids defeat an enemy using an ice weapon, they discover the Viking named Tarko and take his frozen body to Contra to see if he can save him.

Unfortunately, Tarko breaks free and not knowing which century he is in, he proceeds to attack everything and everyone in sight. As he hunts Contra across the planet, Space Ghost and his young partners must find a way to subdue the rampaging powerhouse before it’s too late.

The Story: Pepose creates a fun, thrilling story in this issue. The story starts with some big bombastic action and keeps that momentum throughout the rest of the issue along with adding a thrilling chase and some great moments of character tension between Contra and the kids. I love the big swings this story takes and how unexpected and impressive Pepose brings this story to a close.

The Art: Lau delivers stunning art in the issue. The plot is filled with great character moments and the art reflects them brilliantly as well as delivering dynamic action throughout the story.
