The Rundown: Erica prepares for her confrontation with a monster while Cutter loses something important.

In the aftermath of the slaughter at the police station, the lone deputy who knows Cutter is responsible finds himself being eyed by the woman as she tells her story. Things get even more intense when she discovers that something important to her has gone missing.

At the same time, Erica and the others prepare to face the creature that killed Gabi’s family and Erica tells the others the truth about not only who she is, but what they are about to face. Meanwhile, the creature itself is stalking its next victims.

The Story: James Tynion IV continues to ramp up the tension in this issue and I love both its progression and tone. There are some great surprises in the issue and some moments that are terrifying. The confrontation between Erica and Cutter is shaping up to be intense and I love the uncertainty of not knowing what will come next. I also love the dark, ominous tone of the story and how the characters interact with each other within it. I’m excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Dell’edera delivers great atmosphere and emotion in the art. The visuals are bright and inviting while also giving moments of great fear and tension.
