The Rundown: Dan confronts the darkest part of himself as the world of imagination continues to grow darker.

Dan’s darkness continues to spread across multiple worlds as the beings he thought were friends blame him for the death and destruction all around them. Alter tells Dan the brutal truth about the role he is playing in the destruction and what he must face in order to stop it.

Dan decides to take a final stand against his own darkness and confronts the dark entity at the heart of it. A dark entity with a familiar face who will tempt Dan to live within his darkness by using his guilt and grief against him.

The Story: Kudranski ends this arc with a story filled with tension, suspense and heart. The personal conflicts and struggles of the character is one of the reasons why this series has resonated with me as a reader and every moment of fear and doubt Dan experiences makes the story compelling and engaging. I love the note this arc ends on and look forward to revisiting this world again.

The Art: Kudranski delivers some powerfully intense and visually stunning art throughout this issue. The blending of visual styles continues to be impressive and definitely one of the things that drew me into the story.
