The Rundown: Noa and D investigate the murder of an immortal.

Dracula has been found dead in his castle in Monsterland and Noa and D find themselves going over the scene before both the dead man’s wife Mina and fellow investigator Van Helsing arrive on the scene. After finding a potential clue on the scene, she goes looking for the local werewolf in the literal hole he lives in.

With few clues and a growing list of suspects, Noa and D decide to get something to eat and Noa gets into a confrontation with one of the locals that will get the attention of a mysterious man. It also gets the attention of more as she tries to find a way to relax in a hotel room in the middle of a land ruled by monsters.

The Story: Kudranski crafts a thrilling, entertaining story in this issue. I continue to be intrigued and invested in the investigation and what it means for the world of this story and its characters. There’s a great mixture of tones within the story. There are moments of darkness mixed with Noa’s seeming nonplussed attitude about everything that I enjoyed. I really enjoyed the final moments of the story and what they might mean for the next issue.

The Art: Kudranski creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue.
