The Rundown: One of Batman’s greatest enemies will launch a full scale war by trying to bring the world peace.

Something is wrong with Ras Al Ghul. Something he will not tell his daughter Talia about as he watches her spar with her son Damian. In the aftermath of recent events, Ras has made a decision about the future of his organization. A decision that will surprise everyone, including Batman. Ras Al Ghul has decided to turn himself over for trial along with his daughter. Something that will generate press all over the world and send Batman on a mission to discover why.

Ras Al Ghul’s deal with the government includes the ability to make a public speech. One that will bring both unwanted attention and the presence of an assassin. An assassin that will not only further divide father and son, but also bring on the wrath of Talia and some powerful allies.

The Story: Williamson goes full out with this first issue. The relationship dynamics are executed brilliantly. The mystery elements are engaging and the story has great pacing, energy and thrills. There are a lot of great moments in the first few pages of this story and that momentum carries on to an exciting cliffhanger.

The Art: Bogdanovic’s art is absolutely stunning. There are brilliantly detailed panels on every page of this issue. The visuals are thrilling and the art serves the tone and mood of the story perfectly.
