The Rundown: The first secret has been unleashed and its revelation changes the world and its protectors.

The remaining members of the Order find themselves in the catacombs beneath France and discover quickly what the cost of losing the first secret is when it is revealed that an entire country has been wiped off the map. Amon deals with the fact that his orders were not followed when securing the secret and what that cost him personally. With the Order compromised, the survivors have no time to rest as Canto’s injuries force them to stop and regroup.

Unfortunately, there isn’t time to rest as their enemies find them and give chase through the streets. As the Order fights to escape, Amon decides to meet with the Council. A meeting that will reveal that more betrayal is on the horizon and the remaining secrets are not safe.

The Story: Tom Taylor delivers in a big way with this issue. The scope of the secrets is devastating and going big gives the reader an emotional punch and a focus on the stakes of this story. Everything from the dialogue to the tone and mood of the story is handled perfectly and I continue to be fascinated with this world that Taylor is building. This was an exciting issue that makes me eager to see what happens next.

The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo delivers some beautiful, action packed imagery throughout this issue. Not only are the character moments beautifully drawn, but the action is breathtaking in its detail and energy.
