The Rundown: Red Sonja and Sitha’s bond grow stronger as they travel together.
Sitha and an injured Sonja encounter a mysterious stranger on their travels. Several days later Sonja awakens in an unusual location and immediately confronts an astonished Samosh. After a brief altercation, the two discuss the events leading up to the current moment. When Sitha enters, the group makes a decision regarding living arrangements. A montage of their time together is shown.
Weeks later, Sonja and Sitha set out on a journey. When they reach their destination, Sonja leaves Sitha with a caretaker. Later, she meets up with Zondryck and discovers something disturbing. Sonja must then decide how to proceed.
The Story: Andolfo and Blengino have created an interesting and emotional narrative that is also filled with action and adventure. I enjoyed watching the dynamics between Sonja, Sith and Samosh. And I appreciated how familial their interactions quickly became familial. I also found Samosh intriguing and I hope his character will be revisited. I am invested in the overarching storyline and found the cliff hanger ending very promising. I look forward to finding out what happens in the next chapter.
The Art: This is a good looking issue filled with bright colors and detailed drawings. The emphasis on expression and form does a good job of conveying the characters’ moods and provides an emotional connection to the story.
