The Rundown: Danger gets closer as the diners are forced to make some dark and dangerous choices.

Two locals talk before the bomb explodes. They reminisce about lost love and make a commitment to being there for each other. After the bomb, a mutated Irene begins scratching at the diner door in order to get in and the patrons inside debate what to do about her. Joe is prepared to put her down with his rifle, but Rob is against it as the creature that used to be Irene breaks through.

As things get more dangerous, the local attendant of the gas station gets an unexpected visit from General McCoy who has been changed from his experience and has a new plan and is seeking followers.

The Story: Condon continues to craft an interesting story, but it feels like its nibbling at the edges of something more engaging and just not getting to it yet. I like the growing conspiracy, but I need more. I like the dark tone, but both the action and characters are starting to lose me. I like the flashbacks to moments with the characters, but the plot moves a little too slow and only really picks up when the story returns to General McCoy. I liked elements of the cliffhanger at the end, but I definitely need more momentum from this series going forward.

The Art: Jeffrey Alan Love delivers stunning visuals throughout the issue. I love the art style and the visual choices being made within the story especially with the characters.
