The Rundown: Sam goes looking for a new victim and discovers the brand new world of the internet.

Something new is coming to the town of Woodbrook and a local turtle named Bertie is going to be one of the first residents in the town to become part of the new world called the internet. At the same time, Sam mentors a new employee as the store prepares to close for the holiday and Sam prepares to look for a new victim out of town.

With new development in the area, local wildlife has been making its way into town and as Sam finds herself securing a new victim to satisfy her bloodlust. When a local animal is killed in town, Bertie lets something slip to Sam and she decides to join the internet herself where she discovers someone asking questions about a missing man who was one of her previous kills.

The Story: Horvath continues to craft some brilliant world building and character development throughout this issue. I love returning to this world and seeing the slow burn of events and discoveries happen to engage and excite the reader. I love the dark tone of this issue and how Sam is growing and changing with the changes happening around her. It’s going to be interesting to explore more of her life and circumstances as things get closer to home.

The Art: Horvath delivers beautifully detailed and visually compelling art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and how they capture the tone and mood of the story.
