Netflix and Tomorrow Studios will produce a new live action series based on the insanely popular anime series Cowboy Bebop for the streaming service.

1

Based on the worldwide phenomenon from Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.

Andre Nemec (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol), Josh Appelbaum (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Jeff Pinkner (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Scott Rosenberg (Venom) of Midnight Radio will be showrunners and executive producers on the 10 episode series. They will be joined by Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios (Snowpiercer, Good Behavior); Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki of Sunrise Inc; Tetsu Fujimura and Matthew Weinberg.

Shinichiro Watanabe (director of the original anime) will come on board as a consultant on the series with Writer/Executive Producer: Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) writing the first episode.
