The Rundown: Naomi confronts her father about her missing friend and learns something dark that could change everything.

Weeks earlier, Naomi meets with the rest of the Justice League to discuss her new emerging powers. Powers that she cannot understand. As the members of the League work to help her, she also learns some harsh truth about what will happen to her life and close relationships now that people know about her powers. Something she thinks about more now that her father is acting strange towards her and her friend Dee is missing.

As she confronts her dad at Dee’s garage, she shows him a strange symbol that was left behind before the Thanagarian left the town. A symbol that not only gives her Rann father a reaction, but elicits an even stronger one from Hawkgirl. As Naomi attempts to take her mind off recent events, she finds herself pulled into something dangerous with a very familiar face.

The Story: Bendis creates an entertaining and intriguing mystery in this issue that continues to grow and evolve in ways that keep me engaged as a reader. I like seeing Naomi’s interactions with members of the League as well as how she tries to balance her personal and professional lives. The family dynamics continue to be compelling and everything makes me interested in Naomi as a character.

The Art: Jamal Campbell delivers some beautiful art on every page of this issue. The style is brilliantly detailed and delivers on the tension, power and emotion of the story.
