Naomi is finally going to get some answers. Unfortunately, those answers will open up more mysteries for the teenager.

Naomi is finally confronting Dee about the picture she found and she is convinced that Dee and the woman in the picture are her birth parents. So much so that she badgers the big man into finally admitting the truth.

He isn’t her father and the story he tells her of leaving the Thanagarian special forces with the woman he loves and fleeing to Earth alone ends the debate. Unfortunately, just as he’s about to tell her why he knows the date she was adopter, her adopted mother comes in wreaking havoc and attacking Dee.

There seems to be more secrets that are being hidden. Secrets that prompted her mother to violently lash out. Secrets that will only be revealed with a road trip to the local park. Once she’s there with her parents, her dad decides to take her on a walk. A walk filled with cryptic conversation and a final reveal that will change everything about Naomi’s life. Just not in the way she thinks.

Brian Michael Bendis and David F Walker are crafting a constantly entertaining story with Naomi. Peppering the narrative of a girl trying to find herself with increasingly fantastic twists and turns makes this story and this issue incredibly engaging. There are great moments throughout and it’s a testament to the strength of the writing that Bendis and Walker can effectively tease the audience with some entertaining reveals that make Naomi’s search for the truth more compelling.

Jamal Campbell’s art is absolutely beautiful. All of the detail and emotion that is conveyed in the characters and the action are fantastic.
