MTV Studios is looking to reboot, revive or spin-off its library of over 200 shows aimed at young adults and is ramping up production on several of them already.

Previously, I reported on the network teaming with The Walking Dead’s Gale Ann Hurd to reboot the animated series Aeon Flux into a live action series. Well now there is news that the studio is looking to relaunch another of its animated series; Daria.

The new series, titled Daria and Jodie, is being shopped to streaming services like Hulu, Netflix and possibly Apple. According to a release from the company;

The iconic animated franchise is reinvented through the eyes of heroine Daria Morgendorffer and one of her closest friends Jodie Landon. These two smart young women take on the world, with their signature satirical voice while deconstructing popular culture, social classes, gender and race.

The series will be written by Grace Edwards (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Inside Amy Schumer). No word yet on involvement from series creators Glenn Eichner and Susie Lewis.
