It’s been confirmed that Marvel Studios is re-teaming with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton on a sequel to the blockbuster film that has brought in over $431 million dollars worldwide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter and other outlets, Destin Daniel Cretton has signed a overall deal with Marvel Studios and Hulu’s Onyx Collective. The deal will allow him to work on multiple projects for both including developing a sequel to Shang-Chi which he will both write and direct. This also means that he will be working on another Marvel Cinematic Universe project for Disney+.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige released a statement saying; “Destin is an amazing collaborator who brought a unique perspective and skill to Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. We had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for stories to bring to life on Disney+, so we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can’t wait to get started,” he said.
