The Rundown: Young Joan must make a decision about the rest of her life.

Young Joan is in love, but her desire to leave her small town and her arguing parents will put her at odds with the young man who has her heart. Spending most of her time in the local library, Joan catches the attention of the librarian also named Joan. As young Joan contemplates her life after high school, the librarian decides to tell her a story.

After learning the truth about her parents and the life that they have been living, young Joan makes a decision about her future. At the same time, her love Fred pays the library a visit and reveals the truth of who he is and his connection to the librarian.

The Story: King delivers a wonderful and consistently intriguing story in this issue. I continue to love the mystery of this series and the characters within it. There are so many interesting and engaging moments throughout the story and the twist within it is brilliantly executed. I find myself invested in Joan’s story and its complexities to the point where I am excited to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Charretier delivers some beautifully detailed art and I continue to love the artistic style of this series and its homage to classic romance comics.
