The Rundown: Joan Peterson has fallen in love. If only she could remember who she’s really in love with.

Joan Peterson has left her small town and moved to the big city where she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle when she falls for her friend’s boyfriend George. When her friend breaks up with him, all of Joan’s dreams come true when he asks her to marry him.

Joan Peterson sneaks out of her suburban home to the city where she meets a man who changes her life named Kit. A man she falls in love with who offers her a world she never dreamed of until her father discovers the relationship. But who is the man named George she can’t stop thinking about?

Joan Peterson is set to marry the son of the town sheriff, but a new ranch hand will change everything. When thoughts of George and Kit plague her mind, Joan runs until a mystery man sends her on a strange trip that will make her question everything about her existence.

The Story: Tom King crafts a brilliantly engaging and intriguing mystery in this first issue. There is a great classic comic feel to the story and the dialogue and the story draws you in with them while slowly revealing something strange happening to the character. I love how the story jumps to different time periods as well and the evolution of Joan throughout the journey. I definitely want to know what happens next.

The Art: Elsa Charretier delivers some beautifully drawn art that has a wonderful classic style reminiscent of the romance comics of the 50’s and 60’s. The art brilliantly draws in the reader and transports you to a place of both beauty and mystery.
