The reboot of the popular comic book film franchise Hellboy is underway and Lionsgate is in final negotiations to distribute the film when it is completed.
The film, currently titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen will be the first Hellboy film since 2008’s Hellboy: The Golden Army. The new film will have a new director behind it and a new star, replacing director Guillermo Del Toro and star Ron Perlman. Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen will star David Harbour (Stranger Things) as the demon spawned agent of the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense.
The film will be directed by Neil Marshall, whose previous credits include The Descent, Game of Thrones, Westworld and the upcoming Lost in Space series. Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is aiming to begin shooting this fall.
