Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige is about to get busier with a new title and additional responsibilities according to a new story.
According to an Exclusive in Deadline, Feige will reportedly be adding the title of Chief Creative Officer of all things Marvel including content for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service. This means that all current and future Marvel projects for both movies and television will report to Feige.
The Deadline exclusive also goes on to state that “Feige’s oversight will extend to the overall creative direction of Marvel’s storytelling and content creation platforms. As part of this, Marvel TV and animation generator Marvel Family Entertainment will move under Feige’s Marvel Studios banner.” Feige has already mapped out the Marvel contributions to Disney+ with shows like The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye extending the Marvel Cinematic Universe he’s overseen for the last ten years.
The deal is being finalized this week and the new structure will continue to have Ike Perlmutter as Chairman of Marvel Entertainment with Dan Buckley as President. Buckley will continue to oversee publishing and editorial, but will report to Feige. Publishing operations, sales, creative services, games, licensing and events will continue to have Buckley reporting to Perlmutter. The creative executives, including Joe Quesada will report to Buckley.
