Lionsgate took a bold move today and dropped the second action packed trailer for the newest iteration of the Saban Entertainment series Power Rangers. Check it out.
While the teaser only hinted at the team, their powers and the main villain, this trailer ramps up anticipation for the film by giving us the team in training, embracing their destiny as Rangers and the introduction of Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as Zordon. We also get a glimpse of comedian Bill Hader (Trainwreck) as Alpha 5. The trailer does a good job of focusing on the teen heroes, while still delivering on the action as we get our first look at the suits in action during a fight, Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect) being menacingly evil as Rita Repulsa and the zords taking on Goldar.
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
Power Rangers will be in theaters March 24, 2017.
