With a Flash movie starring Ezra Miller still in development, Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman sequel being developed as well and Gal Gadot’s second Wonder Woman film getting ready to be released, speculation about the return of Henry Cavill continues to grow.

Well fans of the Man of Steel actor might be getting some good news. According to Variety, Henry Cavill is in negotiations with Warner Brothers to possibly return as Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent in an upcoming DC film. While this isn’t news of a Man of Steel sequel, continuing to associate the actor with the role and bringing in the character to other projects definitely paves the way for Superman to the big screen.

Cavill himself continues to lobby for a return to the iconic role that he played in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. In the December issue of Men’s Health, the Witcher star said; “There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me.”

I, for one, hopes he gets the chance to do it again. There’s an earnest, hopeful quality to Superman that Cavill has been able to bring out without making the character seem dated or insincere. I would love to see him explore more of the depths of the character.
