At the same time, Tom is visited by a literal ghost from his past and after fighting the creature off and driving her from his home, she is rescued by a mysterious benefactor with a connection to the new caretaker of an old house who has an interest in the young girl traveling with Hellboy.

The Story: There is a lot of build up in this story and all of the elements that make Hellboy fun and interesting are there. His relationship with both Tom and Sara are interesting and the dynamics between them are engaging. The story is interesting as well and the action is great. Mignola immerses the reader in the world of Hellboy and allows the characters and dialogue to draw the reader in. All of the build up in the story pays off with a mystery worth following.

The Art: Zach Howard’s art is beautiful. Everything from the characters to the action looks fantastic and every page is filled with atmosphere.
