The Rundown: After an unexpected incident, Harley Quinn starts a new career. The Gotham City Sirens find themselves in a peculiar situation.

Harley’s narration details her recent adventures as she battles with Two-Face. Later, at home, she interacts with her pets and has a heartfelt conversation with Kevin about life and her current state of being. Later, Harley once again finds herself entangled with Two-Face and afterwards herself in a compromising position. Eventually, she succumbs to a surprising directive. Next, Harley takes on a surprising new role but is soon interrupted by yet another encounter with the infamous coin flipper of Gotham, during which something very bizarre occurs. Finally, Harley is contacted by a mysterious being that offers her an unusual choice.

Lovely Angel Harley Quinn

When Harley holds a therapy session with an institutionalized Poison Ivy and Selena Kyle, the trio are suddenly interrupted by the appearance of an unknown creature as well as a powerful relic. Later, it is revealed that a popular Gotham hero plays an important role in the incident. In order to combat the mysterious being, the Gotham City Sirens team up in an epic battle.

The Story: Tini Howard takes the reigns as writer, as a new creative team boards this ongoing series. The story takes on a different angle as we find the reformed clown missing her adventure-laden lover. This is the perfect jumping in point for new readers, as the issue sets up a promising story line filled with multiverse action. I find it interesting that the narrative heavily includes Harley’s prowess as a psychiatrist and explores her teaching ability; and I wonder how this will influence her new challenges. I am also curious as to how Harley’s relationship with Kevin will evolve after an uncharacteristic attack. All in all, I found this first episode entertaining and look forward to what will follow.

The B Story is a short adventure that takes a look at an undetermined snippet in time. Although there is a promised follow up adventure, I can’t tell as to whether this was a one shot story, or the beginning of a concentrated storyline. Either way, I found it to be both fun and amusing.

The Art: While created in two very different stylings, both tales are modern and colorful, focusing on character expression and form. They also feature some cool fight scenes with tones that perfectly match the different situations.
