The Rundown: Hellboy is kidnapped and used to bring down a giant monster.

It’s London in the 60’s and Hellboy finds himself on the street alone. After being betrayed by a friend, he is kidnapped and locked into a machine while a giant crate is transported to a remote island.

While a spy infiltrates the island and discovers that something locked away has been missing, the people who kidnapped Hellboy activate the giant robot he has been wired into and his first foray as a mech does not go as planned.

The Story: A fun, funny and entertaining story from Mignola. The story is filled with great action and adventure. There is an interesting and compelling tone to the story and I love the rise in both suspense and thrills. There’s an interesting mystery in the story as well with the people who have kidnapped Hellboy and I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.

The Art: Fegredo delivers some beautifully detailed and visually dynamic art throughout the issue. The imagery is fantastic and I can’t wait to see more giant robot fights.
