The Rundown: In the wake of a dangerous betrayal, the Gargoyles continue to protect the city.

Demona has managed to escape the plan after stealing one of the eggs from the Rookery and the clan is on edge. At the same time, a tram car is trapped over the bridge after a crane accident and people are trapped. Goliath and the others fly off to help as an interview he gave airs retelling their story and explaining recent events in the city.

The Gargoyles make it to the scene and begin the process of rescuing the trapped commuters who turn out to be both friends and foes as Elisa deals with her part in the egg theft. As the rescue continues and reinforcements arrive, Katana and Brooklyn decide that they will continue the hunt for Demona to recover their egg and stop her permanently.

The Story: Weisman crafts a thrilling adventure in this issue that brings the characters back to their roots in the city as well as the conflicts and relationships they have created in their time there. I like the dark undertone of the Demona story and where it brings Brooklyn and Katana. I enjoyed the fast pace of the rescue and the stakes of it while also enjoying the emotional moments for the characters, the callback to their origin and the introduction of a new threat. I cannot wait to see where this new arc goes.

The Art: Gambone delivers great art in this issue. I really love the character designs and the wonderful details on every page and panel.
