The Rundown: Demona finds a new life abroad, but her old hatred still burns inside her.

Demona and her adopted daughter have made a life for themselves in Japan as Angelika finds a mate and becomes part of the samurai clan. After her mate makes his final journey, Demona is afraid of losing the much older Angelika. At the same time, a mysterious figure arrives in Japan and is looking for Demona herself.
As Demona trains with her new clan and Angelika comes to the end of her life, the woman reveals herself to be a Hunter on a mission to destroy Demona. As her forces and the clan meet in battle, Demona wins the day, but it is too late for her daughter and that loss continues her journey into darkness.
The Story: Weisman crafts a tragic, dark and thrilling story in this issue. It has a wonderful progression of events that could lead to a different outcome for the character as she deals with potential loss and possible peace, but the ghosts of her past and the destruction she has wrought on her journey make that all but impossible. I love the tone of this story a lot and how it informs and evolves the character of Demona.
The Art: Paur crafts some beautifully detailed and visually dynamic art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the emotion of the art itself.
