The Rundown: Lantern Mullein makes one last push to save an entire city.

Green Lantern Jo Mullen finds herself in a pitched battle with the flagship of a force intent on keeping order in the City Enduring even if that means slaughtering a huge section of its population. With no backup and limited power to her ring, Jo must single handedly find a way to stop the destruction if there is any chance of the people getting to vote for their future.

After making her way onto the ship, she finds herself face to face with the commander who has a personal connection to a member of the council. In the aftermath, changes will come to the City on a big and small scale and Jo will have to make some decisions about her life there as well.

The Story: Jemisin brings this story to an exciting and satisfying conclusion. There is great action throughout, but the evolution of the character is one of the things that makes this series so engaging as a reader. There is a sense of who this character is and the writing creates an environment where you care about her and empathize with her. It’s a great story with great themes that resonate.

The Art: Campbell delivers some explosive, beautiful and detailed art throughout this issue. Every page is filled with amazing imagery, scale and detail.
